After experiencing cold, wet weather the past couple years, we happily greeted the sunshine as we headed out to Deer Park ready to participate in this year’s Habitat for Humanity Blitz Build! The day was spent working alongside future homeowners and longtime volunteers alike, cutting and installing window trim as well as putting up siding.
The Habitat for Humanity Blitz Build is an accelerated annual construction effort that brings the Spokane community together. Several hundred skilled and unskilled community volunteers, sponsor groups and current and future Habitat homeowners work side-by-side to build decent, affordable homes for families in need in our community. Habitat for Humanity-Spokane has been “Blitz Building” for 18 consecutive years!
