Construction Update
Altaire at Queen Anne
July 2026
About the Project
Altaire Queen Anne (AQA) is a thoughtfully designed 7-story affordable housing community offering 114 modern residential units in the heart of Queen Anne. The unit mix includes 25 one-bedroom homes, 6 two-bedroom homes, 12 three-bedroom homes, 27 open one-bedroom layouts, 42 SEDU units, and 2 studio apartments, providing a diverse range of living options to meet community needs.
The building features a subterranean parking level and is constructed with Type IA concrete construction from Level P1 through Level 2, transitioning to Type VA wood-frame construction from Levels 3 through 8, delivering durability, efficiency, and long-term performance.
Residents will enjoy a curated set of comfort-focused amenities, including a welcoming community room, private patios for select homes, secure garage and bike parking, in-unit laundry, leasing offices, a mail and parcel room, and a dedicated on-site dog run, all designed to support convenient, connected living.
Scheduled completion date is Q4 2027
Construction Update – July 2026
Construction continues to move steadily forward as the project advances into the next phase of structural work. Following significant progress in June, crews are now focused on completing key concrete milestones and preparing the building to continue rising above grade.
What’s Happening This Month
- Level 1 slab-on-grade concrete pours will continue across the site.
- Work on the Level 1 elevated deck structure will progress, including reinforcing steel, utility coordination, and concrete placement.
- Vertical construction will continue with columns and walls as the building moves upward.
- Preparation for the Level 2 elevated deck will begin later this month.
- Weekend utility work will begin following the FIFA moratorium to support future phases of construction.
What Neighbors May Notice
Neighbors may continue to see active construction operations during normal working hours, including:
- Concrete pours and concrete finishing activities
- Crane operations and material hoisting
- Construction vehicles and truck deliveries
- Ongoing utility and structural work
- Increased activity as construction continues above grade
Traffic & Safety Reminder
Existing traffic and pedestrian impacts will remain in place throughout July, including temporary parking, sidewalk, shoulder, and parking lane closures around the project site.
Following the FIFA-related moratorium, weekend utility work will begin along West Mercer Street and 2nd Ave W. Traffic control measures will be in place, and neighbors should expect intermittent sidewalk closures and pedestrian detours during these activities.
We kindly ask neighbors and visitors to follow all posted traffic signage, pedestrian detours, and temporary closures. Your patience and cooperation help maintain a safe environment for everyone as construction progresses.
We appreciate the community’s continued support throughout construction.
We apologize for any inconveniences throughout the construction process. The safety of all employees, neighbors and the general public is our number one priority. Please be aware of changing conditions in the public right-of-way as sidewalk and street conditions are ever changing. Heavy equipment is entering and exiting the jobsite regularly. Please be aware of your surroundings and help us keep this project safe and free of injury.
Thank you.
